A temporary bridge is part of the treatment, not the final result
When clinical stability permits, a provisional bridge may be attached after implant placement. It helps appearance and function while tissues change, but it is designed for the healing phase. The final bridge may use different materials, contours and bite details.
Why the soft-food period matters
Implants need protection from excessive loading while integration begins. Follow the exact diet instructions even if the bridge feels strong. Hard or chewy foods can overload the provisional bridge or implants.
Adjustments are not unusual
Swelling reduces, speech adapts and the bite can change during healing. Contact the clinic if the bridge cracks, feels mobile, causes an ulcer or the bite feels uneven. Do not attempt to glue or adjust it yourself.
Prepare for the final stage
Before the final bridge, the team reassesses healing, tissue shape, cleaning access, speech and bite. Use the provisional phase to communicate what feels comfortable and what you would like refined.
